Questions
Questions about sets and presses
How long does a set day take?
Most take two to three hours from the first shampoo to the last comb-out. Each service on the menu lists its time, and we tell you when you book if your hair will need more.
Do I need to book ahead?
Please do. Call or text and we will find you a set day, or choose a time on the booking page. Tawnya will tell you when a chair is open.
Should I come with my hair washed?
Come as you are. We wash and condition every head at the bowl before a set or a press, and that wash is part of the time on the menu.
How long will my set or press last?
It depends on your hair, the weather and how you wrap it at night. Your stylist tells you what to expect before you leave, and shows you how to wrap.
Do you do color or relaxers?
No. We do sets, presses, trims and conditioning, and we do them slowly.
Can I see my price before I book?
Prices depend on your hair and the set you choose, so we give yours when you call or book. You agree to it before we start.
Can I bring a photo of the set I want?
Please do, and photos of sets you don't want too. They help you and your stylist agree on the shape, the size of the curl and the finish.
Do you take children and teens?
Yes. Press and set visits for ages 12 and under are shorter and gentler, with a grown-up in the room. Teens book like anyone else.
What is a wrap and why does it matter?
A wrap is how you smooth and pin your hair around your head at night, under a bonnet or scarf. It helps a set keep its shape between visits.
Where do I park?
There is street parking on Greensboro Avenue and a public lot a short walk away.
