Presses

Silk press

Smooth, swinging hair, pressed section by section.

A silk press starts with a wash and a stretched blow-dry. Then each section is combed and pressed with an iron, at a heat chosen for your hair. A trim and soft curls can be added. How long it holds depends on your hair and the weather.

What to expect

  • Two to two and a half hours

  • A trim can be added when you book

  • Wrap it at night to hold the shape

Questions about this service

How often can I get a silk press?

It depends on your hair. Your stylist tells you at the chair how long to leave between presses, and what to do between them.

What happens when it rains?

Humidity can bring curl back. Wrapping at night and a bonnet in wet weather help, and your stylist shows you how.

Can I add curls?

Yes. A press and curl finishes the press with soft curls or waves from a hot iron.
